Cernit 1-Piece Clay N1 500 G Carnation, Carnation

Cernit has a more life-like quality than any other that I have tried. Pliable and forgiving, which is important for this amateur doll maker.NOTE: Because of some of the reviews that talked about how hard this is to work with, I want to share more about my experience working with Cernit. It is rather firm when you first open the package. However, if you hold it firmly in your hand and continue squeezing it over and over, in no time it will be soft enough to shape into a flatter piece that you can then roll out with a drinking glass or rolling pin to thickness you want to work with. I am 80 years old and don't have the strength in my hands that I once had, but still can work this modeling compound.I hope this helps.

The black Cernit I ordered was a little messy. When cutting into the block it leaked black pigment and made a bit of a mess. Once I conditioned it back in, the clay performed well.

It does give a wonderful finish but I find it extremely hard to condition. The onlyway I can get it pliable enough to work with is to put it in my food processor andthen sometimes I have to warm it up for 6 or 7 seconds in the microwave.
