nice tool
Being an Industrial Electrician, I use various types of crimpers every day. I love a good quality tool that gets the job done right everytime without a hassle. That is one of the benefits of spending a couple hundred dollars on a tool like this one. I look at it though a little differently. If I can find a tool that is 1/20th the price of a named brand one that performs just like it, I don't hesitate to give it a try. This is only one of the many hand tools i have acquried from amazon that was not only super cheap, but performs like the top of the line ones. I did have a jesus clip that was missing on mine when they arrived, but i have those in abundance at work so replacing it was not an issue. This tool gets the job done and for the price, you cant go wrong. No more worrying about finding the $200 community crimper at work, I have my own in my bag at all times!! Highly recommended

Not sure how it works, but it does...
Works on all gauges between 20-14 AWG using Deutsch contact size 16 terminals. Haven't tried the larger size 12 contacts - doesn't look like they'll fit. The std Deutsch crimper is a ratcheting type tool, this one is not. There is no AWG adjustment either - hence, I'm not sure how they work as well as they do over the range of 20-14AWG. The crimp barrel does not seemed to be overly crushed when using 14AWG. I've performed simple pull tests and the terminals have all held up fine. Nice cheap alternative to the very expensive Deutsch HDT-48-00 (built by Daniels Mfg).

Crimps perfectly.
4 pin crimper that works well. #12 Deutsch DT pins will not fit into the crimper. I disassembled the crimper and drilled out the through hole in the crimper to 3/16 inch, and milled 0.010 of an inch (ten thousandths) off the crimping end of each of the 4 crimpers. The crimper now accepts #12 pins and does a very tight crimp. The steel is soft and easily drilled and milled or filed. Be sure to hold the two assembly pins and the two cam pins in place, or they will fall out while the crimper is disassembled. Hold your finger on the E clips when disassembling/assembling to prevent them from FLYING away!

Works good.
Works great for everyonce in a while. Has side weight to it, a sign of quality workmanship. Fantastic deal for the tool.

Works as expected!
I bought these to use with some Deutch connectors I bought elsewhere (wirecare -- great site for choosing the connectors!!) and was a little bit concerned about the different types of crimpers out there and what was supposedly needed to crimp the barrels -- some of these tools cost >$200 each or can be rented.. Go figure! Anyway, this tool arrived with a hand-written note offering help if I needed any -- just a phone call away! Anyway, I was able to crimp the half-dozen connectors I needed without ANY problems.. All crimps worked great and I went on to my next task!

I use it all the time at work.
I use it quite a lot, probably every other day at work and it is just fine. I haven't used "nice" ones before so I don't have a point of reference but these will get the job done every time, even in a professional setting.

For the price this thing is amazing. I'm a Caterpillar field mechanic and like to have a backup for everything just in case. I have the $300+ crimp tool in my Deutsch kit on my truck but wanted a spare. Use it at home to wire in a new fuel pump and fuel heater. Worked great.

OK for occasional use
I have used a Detusch HDT-48-00 crimper for years and it is a fabulous tool, but expensive. Recently I discovered this inexpensive crimper and wanted to give it a try. It does work, but there is no adjustment for wire gauge so I'm not sure how well it works at the extremes (12 and 20 AWG). I did do a crimp of 20 AWG wire and it seemed secure with a simple pull test but without comparing the force required to pull it vs the Deutsch crimper I can't say if it is perfect. Since it does seem at least reasonably secure I'm comfortable using it if I need. The other problem with the crimper I noticed is that the depth adjustment isn't great for my size 20 Deutch sockets. So I have to take extra time to verify I'm holding the contact at the correct position for the crimp. There is a reversible insert for depth adjustment but the spring used for holding position makes it awkward vs having a adjustment nut and light spring to lock the position. Again, they work and are probably fine for quick jobs or occasional use but I wouldn't recommend them if you are doing lots of these connectors as the Deutsch tool is nicer (although much pricier).

Love them
Works on day one and fit a lot of size. Not sure about 12 ga but pretty cool on a daily buisness in the shop

Worked perfectly and as described
I had ordered a different unit that was advertised as being able to crimp Deutsch pins - it didn't. This unit is easy to use and makes a very tight crimp.
