I live on a lake in Florida and the mosquitoes and yellow flies are so bad in the late spring and summer that it's almost impossible to get any yard work done without getting attacked. I am very satisfied with the Flowtron's ability to kill insects but not sure yet on just how effective it is in attracting and killing biting flies. I've only had it for less than one week and so far, it has done a great job killing moths and small beetles. I did attach the octenol attractant to the bottom on the unit that came with the purchase. The attached picture shows just one night of bug killing. There are some dead insects on the ground but as you can see most are stuck on the 'non-clogging' killing grid. I'm not going to downgrade this 5-star review because that was not a selling point for me. You will need to clean the unit. Besides I want to easily see what it's killed and I can clean it with my powerful leaf blower in under 30 seconds. One concern that I have that is yet to be determined is what will happen if the unit is left on during a rain event. We get a lot of rain in Florida in the summer (even nocternal storms). As we all know, water and electricity don't mix and I hope it wouldn't short out. I will also add that the 'zapping' sound of insects getting fried is actually music to my ears! I don't mind it at all. I would highly recommend this product.

This works like a dream. We live in the woods and constantly have mosquitos, even on warmer days in the winter. We do keep ours inside until we are ready to use it, but that is only because we don't have a permanent place to hang it yet. When we use it, we turn it on just a little before we plan on being outside, and it starts working right away. We sometimes sit it on a table away from where we are, and when we get it to take it in, there is always a huge pile of dead bugs, mostly mosquitos. It is supper gross but also quite impressive. I have wanted a bug zapper for years because an Uncle of mine had one and it seemed to work, but I would hear people say things about the weird old people with bug zappers. I didn't want that being said about me. Now at 48, I don't care what people think about it. My family isn't getting chewed up by mosquitos and I wish I would have purchased one of these years ago. This works so well that I have suggested it to a hand full of people I know who also have a mad mosquito problem.

We just got this today. It was super easy to assemble. Once we got it powered up, it began zapping almost immediately. Since it covers a full acre and our yard is 3/4 acre, I'm expecting to be mosquito free!

Keeps on zapping the bugs. It works without the scent as well. Have it connected to a sensor that comes on at night. Wish the dead bugs come off the unit cleaner but it will have to do.

We are very happy with our Flowtron bug zapper! It's like the 4th of July in my backyard... The last thing The bugs see as they die is a bright blue light as they fall silently to the ground. I'm very happy but they're not!

This is fantastic! 1st night it was zapping non stop this morning it looked like a huge mosquito hairball lol! I just took my blower and 2 seconds perfectly clean

Zapping away the way it should! Had one of these 20 years ago and so glad to have bought another...the little buggers are sizzling away as I am typing ...what a great company and product!

This works GREAT! First night we had 1/2” thick and a foot diameter of dead bugs! It got mosquitoes, flies, June bugs… big mix of everything! We are extremely happy with this and will buy a second one for others yard areas!
