These make a great soup or stir fry addition!
The only slightly negative thing I can say about this mix is that they all re-constitute at different rates of time, which might be expected because it is a MIX after all. This is NOT the fault of the product, it is a user patience issue. I have learned that a few hours (4-6) of soak time isn't enough for all the mushroom types, so I let them soak over night, which works much better. If you add to a soup you can put them in dry and boil until the tougher ones soften up, but I have found that soaking is best. I use the water off the soaked mushrooms when making soup so that the flavor in the water isn't wasted.

Tasty variety, and lots of it.
Great mix of mushrooms loaded with a variety, the sliced shitake are mostly peices, but several handsome large slices. The crinkly black mushrooms (I hear it's called wood ear) are the best of the bunch - and expand from tiny shrivels into enormous chewy, tasty additions to soups or stir fry. Other ones in the mix provide a real variety of texture, and I'm not getting any stale flavors, not spotting any grit or twigs that I found in mixes from other brands.I will definitely be getting this large bag of great shrooms again.

Interesting collection and convenient
The bag contains a variety of mushrooms; some I had never seen or heard of, but definitely educational! My first use was a failure and a learning experience. Insufficient re-hydration, longer than expected cooking times depending on the mushrooms in the mix were hurdles. Sort & choose first! Once done properly, the mushrooms had good flavor & texture and are a reasonable substitute for fresh ones AND extremely convenient. Personally, I prefer fresh for stir fry and will sort a few of variety for use if really needed. For stews & slow cooked soups, a few others in the bag will work great! Watch out for stems and cut some of the big ones for easier prep.

Wrong, totally wrong.
Item description completely incorrect, this one contains shiitakes, oysters, woodear, champignon, and namekos. Granted it *is* good in stir fry, but is it really so hard to get the listing to match what you're buying?I'm listing this at 1 star despite the mushrooms being quite good in the hopes that the folk selling them will perk up and pay attention. Now as for what I got? I'd call the three incorrect ones I got fair to middling. They tend to lean heavier towards woodears, which if you like them, fine, but they aren't my favorite. The rest of the mix is pretty representative of what's on the bag and tastes pretty decent. Now the actual bad is pretty minor, these packs do not come with any desiccant in the package, nor is the bag resealable. Not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but worth being aware of to make sure you have an air-tight container to store them in. I've got a gallon jar with a bunch of desiccant packets in the bottom that I keep mine stored in.Overall I'm calling this a pretty good deal, if the seller updates the description to accurately reflect what is there I'd call it 4 stars, well worth buying.*A note to the seller: Amazon customer help was supposed to have let you know this was an issue twice around the middle of April 2017. If this is the first you're hearing of it, then you need to have a talk with Amazon and fix it. Y'all got a good product I like, I'm betting the product I thought I ordered is even better than what I got.

Great value for shroom lovers
These are great to keep on hand. You can put some in filtered water in the morning and they are ready to cook with by supper time. They taste great, are easy to store and easy to use. Anything you would use fresh mushrooms for, you can use these. The price is great as well, the bag is huge and its a 5 to 1 mix for re-hydrating. 5 parts water to one part mushrooms, so this plumps to an enormous amount of mushrooms. If you bought all that fresh it would cost you a whole lot more money. They are more convenient as well, you don't have to run out and get mushrooms when you want them and don't have any go bad because you bought them and forgot to use them.

Wonderful!
These are great. You can use as much/little as you need, but they do expand much more than you'll think. And they're in large enough pieces that you can pick through and use only the ones you want in a recipe. I made some great cream of mushroom soup a couple of days ago, just made sure to pick out the green fungus, to use in miso soup later. A good buy, great flavor.

Haven't had the best luck with dried mushrooms and was nervous this giant bag was gonna end up in the trash but wasn't the case. Love these mushrooms, have used many times now and never disappointed. A little goes a long way as well. Pieces are kinda big for me so I throw in the food processor for a few secs and viola, good to go.

Love these mushrooms for variety, texture and long-term savings.
Great mix of mushrooms. Much better than the homogenous blend I used to get @ Costco that ended up rubbery, like sponges and had to be cut into tiny pieces to get better texture. I used this for chicken soup with risotto and the variety made the dish marvelous with different colors and textures. Nothing was rubbery. This works so much better for me than buying white & brown fresh mushrooms that often end up getting pitched for not being cooked fast enough; so these save me money in the long term. I keep these in a large glass canister with a screw top gasket lid, in the pantry. They would also look cool on display; but I would keep them out of direct sunlight. The black ones DO get large, so you might want to break these up into smaller pieces and use less per dish, but I happened to like those. These are easy to break with your hands; you will not need scissors.
