but this is awesome. It's pretty heavy when its all geared up

I've only taken it out once...but this is awesome. It's pretty heavy when its all geared up...but I am going to love fishing on this and I will get a workout too. That's my only bit of advice...you can move on this thing...but if you want to crank...you will be getting some cardio. For me, that's like a bonus.

Great kayaks, great value.

We bought two of these kayaks, and are extremely happy with the purchase. These are substantial boats, well engineered and beautifully constructed. They are also extremely stable on the water, and easy to manoeuvre. We got them for wildlife photography and general recreation, and they have proved to be perfect. The seller, Appomattox River Company, was very helpful throughout the process.

Pedal or Paddle? Pedal everytime!

I used to paddle.....done with that. I fish so it sucked having to paddle to a spot....Oh the wind is blowing, blew me off the spot...stop fishing, paddle back....rinse and repeat. This yak is fast, very maneuverable, easy to use, and stable as all get out - comfortable too. I can stand if I want to without feeling like its bath time. Also comes with rails for all the neat accessories.Pedal forward, go forward; want to go back, pedal back - no gears to change. Rudder is in line so it wont drag below the keel. Pedal system will rotate up for beaching too.

PEDDLE or PADDLE All Day and More

Like a High End Recumbent Bike for Calm Waterways.I bought one of these two years ago through Amazon, and have updated this review on July 2017.This is the smaller of the two propel kayaks from Native Watercraft. There is a 13 foot version which tracks slightly better and may handle more gear. The only reason to get the longer version is for rougher waters. This smaller kayak will bounce around on rough days on the Great Lakes or Ocean. The smaller boat is better in tight spaces. Update: we had these boats in the BWCA onlarge and small lakes. On a small, calm lake these boats are silent and so smooth. We peddled the two boats on famous Clearwater Lake on a day that canoes were having trouble.with this boat, we could recline the seat out of the wind and speed home at 10 mph.The 13 foot version is slightly faster when pressed into service. Both versions intended for fishing gear, they will handle a lot of gear, or camping gear. There are integrated tracks running the length of the boat for attaching all sorts of gadgets.including a stand up bar or roll bar, paddle locks...check for videos of peoples upgrades. This said, I DID NOT BUY THIS for FISHING, camping or portage.I bought this for biking, rather than a Recumbent Bike for waterways. This is THE BOMB! Functions like a bike without all the vibration in your hands. The pedal system is very good and can go in reverse.THE SEAT IS AMAZING so there aren't issues with soreness anywhere.PEDDLE or PADDLE all day and no sea legs or sore shoulders, numb hands and bottoms. This really changes what you can do with your kayak, your adventure andis a perfect workout bike. This smaller version is just light enough for one man to handle. You can buy wheels or just lay down some cardboard to slide it to your destination.UNIQUE TRANSPORT: Removed the inside of a minivan and two of these just fit stack perfectly INSIDE.I removed the passenger seat from an old Odyssey and we stack these inside for travel anywhereIt handles like a sedan and you can see over two boats easily..

Great Kayak For The Price

If you're looking for a great pedal kayak, get this. i've taken it out 7 times and its comfortable to sit in,i have no worries. Make sure you tighten the pedals really good. Didn't feel like spending 3 grand for a Hobie, this will be fine.Took it out in 15mph winds on a cook county lake and i was fine.
