Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, Vol. 1

I came into Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End after watching the anime, and Volume 1 completely blew me away. The manga captures everything I loved about the show — the quiet beauty, the emotion, the worldbuilding — and somehow makes it feel even more personal. I picked this up just expecting to skim through a few chapters, and instead, I read the entire thing in one sitting. That never happens with me, not even with comics. I was totally immersed from page one.Even though it only took a few hours to finish, the impact stayed with me — enough that I immediately ordered a bundle of Volumes 1 through 10 because I need to keep going. This isn’t just a good read — it’s the kind of story that makes you slow down, reflect, and feel something real. If you love fantasy, deep character stories, or just want something that leaves a lasting impression, this is the book for you. I can’t recommend it enough.

This as a book that makes you think about people and relationships. I mean even though you could live a couple thousand years that doesn't mean that people who don't are dispensable. The book is clean and not suggestive either. (Unlike most graphic novels.) I can't wait for volume 2. For a good family friendly graphic novel for boys and girls 12 and older. This is good. And it's clean enough to for grandma to read it to her grands too. Not a whole lot of action but it is a great book on the relational condition. EB

Such a beautiful and cozy story. The plot is good, the characters are lovable and unique, and the art is wonderful. Keep reading, watch the series, all of it. I love Frieren.

Good series to read.

Frieren offers a look into the quiet, poignant moments that most fantasy epics pass right by. Quiet, packed with dry humor, and contemplative, this volume was a breath of fresh air for a longtime fantasy fan.

Beautiful art. Beautiful story. Beautiful themes. Just absolutely beautiful. I was also amazed by how near exact the manga and anime were. Beautiful.
