Environmental science project disguised as a children's book
What a great environmental science resource disguised as a children’s book. The illustrations are not just artful they are informative and instructional. This is a story you can live, a guide for transforming your own personal property into a self-sustaining classroom on working to natures strengths, not trying to control it. A great way to engage with your children and the natural world we live in, by taking ownership of our footprints, bravo!

Great for all ages!
I love this book because it teaches the complexities of green infrastructure in an easily digestible manner so that anyone at any age can learn how to successfully build a rain garden and why they are so important for protecting our waterways and support native plants and pollinators. I also love the hand drawn illustrations; so colorful, fun and accurate!!

Great basis for building curriculum/reggio provocation!
I have this to my sister in law who teaches at a Waldorf elementary for curriculum ideas. She loved it! What a great idea for a book, Sally! Looking forward to your next book!

Fabulous Children's Book
Beautiful illustrations, and a great addition if your child enjoys gardening with you. Takes a great ecological concept, rain gardens, and makes it accessible for children.

Great addition to homeschooling and classroom curriculums!
Sally is so incredibly knowledgeable and talented. Her artwork is so lovely. She has an extensive background in teaching community gardening and environmental care to both adults and children. This is a great addition to your homeschooling curriculum! It’s an excellent way to teach kids about nature, reading comprehension, and it gives kids the confidence that they can learn new ways to take care of our natural resources and gives them confidence to learn and carry out new gardening projects. With an increase in virtual/homeschooling, this book provides inspiration to get your kids outside and off the screen for a while. All schools and homes should teach and have rain gardens! I can’t wait to start ours!

Adorable and great intro to rain gardening!
I bought one for my girls, then 3 more for gifts and my girls’ school! I’ll be chatting with the PTA about adding a rain garden to the swampy back fields this year. Such a cute and simple introduction for the kids!
