John William Bow Ties for Men - 100% Silk Self-Tie Bow Tie for Tuxedo & Wedding

This is a really nice bow tie. Yes, it does say 100% silk and the label says John William. Those who complained about receiving a pre-tied bow tie, or non-silk bow ties, should take that up with Amazon. No such bow ties can be ordered on this Amazon page.I have a 16.5 inch neck. When adjusted to that size, it was a bit too short to tie. It fit perfectly when adjusted to 17.5 inches. Since that's close to the maximum length (18 inches), I caution those those with neck sizes at or above 17 inches. It may be that slightly looser collars are to blame for the increased length needed.I noticed that if the tie length is lengthened, it's also possible to create a tighter knot with fuller, plush wings.This is a well made, pure silk, great twill weave that (I think) is classier than a shiny satin weaves because it shines in a dull sort of way. I almost rated it 4 and not 5 because it would be better if it was one inch longer. But, it's a 5.

Nice tie. The slight texture in the fabric is understated and classy, a subtle step up from the shiny finish you usually see on silk in this price range. Appears to be well-constructed; kept its shape after an evening of wear and then being accidentally crumpled up in a suitcase. Every bit the equal of a tie I paid $50 for a decade ago.

Made from really nice materials, this bow tie comes with a handy marker system on the inside the tie that allows you to see what your neck size is. I liked it so much, I'm getting the black and burgundy ones as well.

I needed an inexpensive option that could arrive in a couple days because I had a dance performance coming up. The reviews for this bowtie were good so I went with it. Packaging wasn't much to look at, just a plastic wrapper, but that's not really what you're paying for so I don't have an issue with it (it also cuts down on waste and shipping). The bowtie was nice and I look forward to wearing it in the future. I'm not the best with quality checking, but there were no issues with the bowtie and it felt like it was good quality.

Because this tie is silk it is easier to tie. (It is smoother and slides easier.) Makes a perfect bow tie knot! I highly recommend this tie!!

Good quality and price

This bow tie looks fantastic - it's always better to have a self-tie than pre-tied anything, especially a bow tie! Discovered that a little flaw in the tie (tying not material) gives the bow tie character, so have a little fun and go authentic! Bow ties are fun to wear and looks great with a velvet coat, give it a go! Pro tip - they are a little tricky to tie, don't try to watch a video five minutes before your event...cheers!

I purchased these and one that is microfiber, I ended up keeping the microfiber one because once I researched it, I found out that the microfiber is easier to clean and they look pretty much the same. And the microfiber one cost less.

Nice Bow Tie, ties nicely

Not a self tie bow tie, it is ready tied! The description is totally wrong. The package is even labelled self tie, but it is in no way a self tie, the bow is stitched onto the band! John Williams needs to sort themselves out - other reviewers had said it wasn't self tied, but I took a gamble thinking they had made an honest mistake. Shame, because the finish is lovely (and matched my lapels material perfectly). Returned this for a refund which was done easily and quickly with no problem.

La pajarita que ordene no fue la que recibí. Ordene este producto en particular pues buscaba una pajarita que no tuviera el nudo hecho(como se muestra en la imagen), sin embargo, recibí una con el nudo ya hecho y que no se podía deshacer. Amazon fue muy amable y eficiente en devolverme el dinero, pero al final tuve que gastar más dinero y tiempo comprando una pajarita sin nudo en otra tienda.

Also just received this tie. It is not a self tie. It is pre tied. The label states self tie but the product is pre tied.
