Primetime Petz Classic Designer Pet Gate

This gate is really beautiful. Everyone that comes into the house mentions how beautiful it is. When we first moved in with friends, the cats were really freaked out by the three barky, nosy, active and irritating shelties that they found themselves being roommates with. I put my boy cat, rather a good sized boy, in the room blocked off by the gate. I was planning on vacuuming and that freaks him out also so I thought putting him away would be a good idea. Well, the dogs got all excited and he got nervous and wanted to go back to the room I was cleaning (his room). He managed to stick his head through one of the curly bits in the corner when the dogs started barking again and when he tried to retract his head the whole gate fell over on him. He escaped but now our gate is missing one small piece of the curl in the corner. I guess you can say it is now customized to have a cat door. It is still a beautiful gate and keeps the dogs out of spaces, but the cats can go through it now.

Bought this gate to keep separated a newly adopted dog from getting too close to our cat. For that purpose, this gate has worked well. The dog (30 pound pointer mix) has not tried to jump over or push aside the gate. The feet make it quite sturdy and thus not likely to be knocked over. Construction-wise, it's a typical piece of Chinese crapola. It was poorly put together and made of rather flimsy materials. I had to glue all of the joints together as they were just pressure fitted and easily separated. The gate doesn't look bad from a distance, but up close you can see that it was poorly finished. However, I was impressed with the two-way hinges which allowed the gate to be folded in either direction. Because of its overall poor construction, I would have to say that this gate is way over-priced, but once it was glued and strengthened, it has done the job that it was intended to do. One further note: the middle section can be easily removed if the gate is too wide for your space, or if you have another use for that middle section.

First I have to say that I LOVE AMAZON and that ordered this from Amazon warehouse knowing it would be slightly damaged. That is the understatement of the year. It basically fell apart (all of the parts) and the finish was a disaster. It was two different colors and it kept flaking all over the kitchen floor...I'm pretty handy with a hammer and a paint brush but I'm not going to clean the floor too! The box was a disaster too. AND...it had spider cocoons on the underside. EEK!

Nice looking but cheaply made. Gate sections do not stay together. I glued all pegs with a heavy duty wood glue. I ordered 6 to protect my staircase and formal living room from my chew crazy husky puppy. All six were falling apart and had to be glued. The frames as well as the decorative inserts kept coming apart. Now that I have glued every section they are fine. I also have challenges with the feet coming off and have to screw them back on.

Very nice quality. I actually use it without the feet, behind one of my couches. It's to prevent my house bunny from chewing the carpet behind the couch. She hasn't even tried to go back there since it was put up. Highly recommend! * EDIT * I loved these gates so much, that I bought two more. These hold back our bunny and our six small dogs without a problem. They are high quality, and gorgeous. I posted a picture on a bunny page and got several referral requests!

This was the tallest wood pet gate I could find. Came well packaged and no scratches. Only problem is the wood scroll work on 2 of the 3 panels look almost black and don't match the wood stain of the outer frame or the other scroll work panel that matched well. We could live with it but if you're picky, may not be color consistent between panels. For the price, I'd expect there to be more quality control.

Do not buy this gate. It looks very nice, stylish. But the quality is terrible. It is very flimsy, falls over quite easily, and has completely come apart with very little use. A miniature poodle could knock this gate over. The wood is thin and hollowed in places and cracks/breaks very easily. If this gate was $19.99 and you knew you were buying it as a one time use or to get you through a weekend, then fine. But do not pay $40 for this gate let alone $140. They must know they are selling garbage for that price and that is highly unethical in my books. Look elsewhere and good luck.

When I received this, it was falling apart. on the left panel, the frame was not glued at all, just a piece of wood. I hate returning things, it's a hassle, so my husband fixed it. It doesn't stand very well, not sturdy. Not what I was expecting for the money.

If you are looking for something that fits in with nicer Decor these are very nice. Light weight but not cheaply made.I purchased 2 of them and easily modified them into a 2 fold gate and a 4 fold gate for a wider part of the room. If you have a small Dog I would recommend buying some plastic plexi glass and glueing it on the inside so that the dog can't sneak through. Works great
