Tough, Reliable, and Perfect for the Job
The DEWALT TSTAK II 13-Inch Tool Box is the best toolbox I’ve owned. It’s tough as nails, with heavy-duty latches and durable plastic that can handle job site abuse without cracking. I’ve dropped it, tossed it around, and it still looks brand new.The size is just right—not too big, not too small. It fits my drills, hand tools, and accessories with no problem. Plus, the stackable design is genius. I’ve got it connected to a couple of other TSTAK boxes, and it keeps everything organized and easy to grab. The handle is comfortable, and it’s light enough to carry without straining, even loaded up. For the price, you won’t find a better box. If you need something reliable for work or home projects, this is it.5 stars—DEWALT nailed it with this one.

DEWALT Store: DEWALT TSTAK II V2.0 Tool Box (DWST17807), Front Handle, Top Handle, Flat Top
This is another purchase of the DeWALT TSTAK products for me. I began putting together a TSTAK system at the end of last year and I really like these products. They are tough, they fit together well, and they integrate with the smaller DeWALT ToughCase+ containers, as well. The DeWALT TSTAK cases are made of quality materials, they are very durable, and yet, still portable. The DeWALT TSTAK products are made predominately of polypropylene polymer (for the case body, top, and handles) and they also use Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) for the latches used to connect the individual components of the TSTAK system. Most of the case handles are over-molded with a Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) coating to make carrying heavy cases a little easier and more secure. Also, they employ all steel over-center latches to secure the case’s top to the bottom, a steel hinge pin to connect the top and bottom sections together, and the ABC latches utilize a steel hinge pin for strength. Finally, I like that most of the TSTAK V2.0 products have an IP54 rating, though the rating could be higher if DeWALT would add a resilient seal into the top of the case. This box is particularly well liked because it has a handle on the flat top and also on the front of the tool box.I have finally begun to organize my tools thanks to these cases. I have purchased polyethylene foam that is custom cut to fit DeWALT TSTAK boxes. I have also purchased uncut foam that I have begun to cut myself to fit the DeWALT TSTAK boxes. This foam has custom fitted spaces cut into the foam, but not completely through the foam, to cradle specific tools within the cases, such as these TSTAK II cases. The DeWALT foam comes in the all-black variety and other sellers offer red and black multi-layer foam and some others offer yellow and black multi-layer foam. The yellow and black multi-layer foam looks particularly sharp when it is used to hold my DeWALT tools.I did not intend to buy two more DeWALT TSTAK II cases, but Amazon lured me in with a particularly good sale price on these cases. Shame on me, I should have more resistance to tool sales.

This is a great tool box for $20, fits in perfect with the other TStak boxes - highly recommended.
For less than $20 this is a great product for a great price for storing tools for the DIYer as many have suggested. I don't know why the product in the US does not have a weather gasket to add protection from rain and dust like the European model, but it does not. From another review here, I saw someone add 5mm(13/64") Diameter Round EPDM solid Rubber tubing to the groove on the cover to give it better protection from the rain and dust. Also, the box does not have any padding, it is just a plastic shell. When open, it is has some torsional flex to it, but when latched the box is quite rigid. I have ordered polyethene foam (Kaizen) to create customized individual cutouts for my tools to add a layer of protection and organization. The TStak II fits in perfectly with the entire TStak line of storage boxes. I have three stack consisting of the TStak Mobile Storage, TStak I Long Handle Box and TStak V Organizer. They have improved the side latches that lock the different boxes together to create the stack. It now has metal bars that go into the cover to give it more strength than the first generation of TStaks. The great thing about this product line is that you can also purchase Craftsmen Versastack pieces and they're using the same interconnect technology and probably have some duplicated pieces. In fact, they have the weather stripping in their boxes. Not sure why they were left out of the DeWalt US Market, may be as another differentiator between DeWalt's TStak and ToughSystem lines. The ToughSystem line appears to be more geared to the people in the trades working every day with them at job sites.I like the idea of the two handles so you can either carry like a tacklebox or a briefcase. Initially it was tight to clip in the boxes, not sure if they'll get easier over time, but I would rather have them too tight than too lose. The base appears to be the same for both the TStak I and TStak II, but you get about a 1/2" more space in the cover since it does not have the top compartment for assorted bits.I am not sure I would purchase this for the MSRP of $39, but well work it for $20. I have a couple of corded DeWalt tools that are close to 20 years old that came in a case and those cases use thicker plastic.
