Q: I am 5’6” and 253# what size would I need in this?

I cant recall what size I ordered but it runs very big so it should fit just fine. The belt is what cinches the waistline

Q: I am 5'4 and 180lb size 10, normally wear a medium / large . Would a small fit?

I'm 5'11" 128lbs it was huge on me. I had a medium. You can always tie belt tighter. As for sewing quality and material I would only suggest wearing it as a costume. Not made for nice wear to occasions.

Q: Are these accurate sizes now or still plus sizes?

Way big. I am a size 16-18 dress. 20w pants. The medium dress was a bit big. Warning. no matter the size they look like a shapeless tent until you put the belt on.

It seems to run big in size. My daughter is 5" and close to your size. She got a size Medium. Looked nice in her.
