This cream arrives in a chunky toothpaste-style tube, and the menthol smell is very toothpaste-like as well, in a good way. It’s a very fresh and quite natural smell that reminds me of sucking peppermints. It’s moderately strong, and if applied somewhere you can continue to smell it such as on a shoulder, it could have the welcome side-effect of smelling like a nasal decongestant, and a rather nice one at that.The cream is much like a moisturiser in terms of thickness. The colour is an off-white that’s not immediately appealing but it rubs in very easily, and leaves much less residue on the skin than I expected, other than the smell.For cooling, the first thing to say is that it isn’t very potent. If you’re expecting an instant numbing zing that makes the problem area feel like it’s got an ice pack on it, you may be underwhelmed. Think of it more as a refreshment, taking the edge off an overheating or sweaty area, the equivalent of putting a cold T-shirt on after a sweaty jog, rather than as an ice pack.Though it isn’t a magic cream, or an ice pack in cream form, I’m still very happy with this cream and it’s a great thing to have in the bag for after a jog, especially on problem muscles.

I have recently been experiencing lower back pains, mainly from poor form when weight lifting. After applying this cooling gel by SPORT READY after some yoga, I could begin to feel the cooling sensation of the menthol right away. Inflammation began to reduce too and I noticed that after several applications the pains were gone indefinitely.This gel is packed with natural ingredients which are effective at muscular recovery and reducing inflammation. These ingredients include Magnesium, Zinc, Copper and of course Menthol. I personally suffer from skin conditions such as Eczema and this gel was very kind to my skin. No dryness or irritations. The bottle is fairly small but a little goes a long way, and I found that a thin layer application was most effective. I do not do rigorous workouts like running or cycling but I do have a long rough terrain hike every weekend and one mid-week. I have a problem right knee; I have had injections into the knee that helped but the last one now was over a year ago (thanks to the pandemic) and has long worn off. I also have developed a muscle strain in my right arm (probably the walking pole)This cream arrives in an easy to squeeze tube inside a cardboard box, the consistency means it is easy to rub in, it is a whitish colour but leaves no greasy residue and does not mark clothing. I found the effect to be soothing, not shocking but a slow gradual effect that I find does help reduce the stiffness and pain after a hike. I really like the smell, it is fresh, minty and bright, not overpowering but refreshing.It is good value as you only need a little, it goes a long way.

Don't expect this cream to be like the sort of cream you get for arthritis as it will not cure that but think of it as mentioned for a post workout when you've had your shower but suddenly you start going a bit stiff and tight. When you find your starting to hobble even after stretching and you need something to unknot everything that aches. This is exactly what this cream does. It smells like opening a pack of extra strong mins and inhaling that strong minty smell but instead of the a cooling tingle that I was expecting I actually got a warming feel. I put that down not just to the peppermint but to the Magnesium which , I f you have never used before is excellent for fighting tired and aching muscles plus it will aid sleep too.
