Silipos Malleolar Gel Sleeve by Silipos

I have had surgery on my right ankle and lately I haven't been able to find a pair of high-top hiking/backpacking boots that didn't irritate my ankle due to the various metal bits just under the skin. I started searching around for something that might help with this and ended up buying this sleeve. So far, so good, although I haven't been out for an extended hike up and down a mountain. The sleeve is very comfortable and once its on I don't seem to notice it at all, but I haven't had any ankle chafing at all so far.a

I've have used this model ankle pad for one year this week. My present pair of boots causes irritation of my medial malleolus on my right ankle. This sleeve protects my medial malleolus from boot rub. I never had any problems before I bought my last pair of boots. Wearing my present pair of boots causes boot rub onto my medial malleolus. I know I should just replace my present pair of boots however I find it difficult to find boots that fit me well as I have wide feet and wear orthotics inserts which my present pair of boots can accommodate.I have had a couple of significant problems with this malleolus sleeve. When I placed this sleeve next to my skin on my ankle a rash broke out. This pad causes some sort of allergic reaction to my skin. I wear them placed over my sock. My sock insulates my skin from the sleeve allowing me to tolerate wear it.I need to replace this malleolus pad has its condition has deteriorated over the last year and the pad is loose from the sleeve. If I could find another boot that works for me, I would not need this pad. With all of my criticisms of this sleeve pad it works. I can’t wear it next to my skin because of the allergic reaction it causes however placed over my sock it protects my medical malleolus from boot rub.I would’ve given this sleeve a higher rating if it did not cause an allergic reaction.

Nice soft gel pads (not too thick) but I found the cuffs to be too tight and ended up tourniqueting me a bit. I cut them to loosen and have been wearing them under a Aircast brace successfully.

I expected two to come in the pack and only one did. Had to order another one and ended up spending 40 dollars which I think is outrageous however the gel on the ankles is nice. The product is very thin so you need to be careful with it.

I have a rather large calcium deposit on the inside of my right ankle and couldn't skate a full game without a lot of pain caused by pressure and rubbing from my skate. I have tried the clear gel discs that are supposed to stick to the skate tongue or inside the boot but they are terrible all those did was add more pressure. So, I bought one of these hoping to alleviate the problem and I couldn't be happier with the result. The sleeve is comfortable and fits perfectly over my foot (size 10.5 US) and the gel pads have just the right amount of stick so once the pads are positioned under the skate sock, it does not move. I have not used this product for very long so I couldn't comment on its durability but right now i am not concerned with that. All i really care about is not having pain in my foot.100% satisfied.
