GERBER 1059828 Dual Force Multi-Tool, Silver

Excellent, well put together Gerber Multitool. I have 3 Leathermans, the Rebar, Signal and Surge and I can say with some knowledge that this Gerber is really well engineered. The slip joint (allowing you a 2nd wider setting of the plier jaws) pliers are fantastic for releasing tight nuts, the round internals of the jaws give a very enclosed grip on nuts of most sizes and operate better than Leatherman plier head in this regard. Only the discontinued Leatherman Crunch beats this for grip strength.The other fold out tools are not as good as Leatherman/Victorinox except for the Centre Drive Screwdriver on this Gerber which is possibly the best screwdriver on any Multitool, Gerber knocked it out of the park when they designed this. The knife blade is reasonable, the file/prybar/chisel is good and the sawblade is good and cuts wood well. 2 other sizes of ¼" screwdriver hex bits are nicely concealed in the handles and of good quality and securely held.If you are looking for a Multitool primarily for great pliers, this is the best choice in my view, can't be beaten. If a great screwdriver onboard is important to you, this Gerber can't be beaten. The other tools onboard are as good as most mid priced multitools so if the knife and sawblade are very important to you, then maybe consider paying more for something from The Leatherman Range like the Surge or the Rebar perhaps.I am very pleased with this purchase and I own some of the best multitools available, this Gerber does not disappoint me in any way, far more strengths than weaknesses and as I mentioned previously, the screwdriver and pliers are more versatile than the Leatherman/Victorinox competition. Comes with a button down Nylon Sheath of the same quality as Leatherman supply with theirs.Gerber certainly stepped up their quality with this tool.

What a tool feels very robust it is large in the hand but feels good it just works well

I already have the gerber centre drive but saw this out and knew it would come in handy, and it has multiple times, it's always on me at work and use it daily.Very robust just like the centre drive, I have no problems with the teeth in the plier part when securing or tightening up nuts and bolts, you just know its gonna last a very long time!It's a weighty item which reassures you of the quality of it and how durable its going to be, knife came sharp, screwdriver is just like the centre drive which works perfect (this is thicker in the hand when using then the centre drive), haven't used the chisel.Only concern is the blade length and its a locking blade, I know there are slightly different laws as it's a multi tool but it's over the legal limit for the UK, I wouldn't carry this in public anyway but if I'm caught at work using it I'm not sure what defence I could use when telling the police it's for work, guess it depends on the police officer. Wish the blade was smaller for UK users.Other slight gripe is that to use the other tools it's quite stiff to get them out, like it's been over tightened. Nothing like the centre drive which you could easily do one handed, this you will have to use 2 hands to get the parts out.But overall love it and comes in very handy!

I like this tool. It’s got precise pressure points to pincers, though isn’t the easiest butterfly opening deployment I’ve encountered in my life. That said it does ok. Like so many other times, if you’re looking for fast acing I’d recommend the Diesel, or that venerated granddaddy the Legend!

One of the best

Already have the Leatherman Free P2 and also the ARC for that lovely MagnaCut Steel. Bought this as good to have a spare. Keep it under my SuperTen seat
