Amazing Chun-Li Figure

The Storm Collectibles Chun-Li was released in Q3 of 2017 at an MSRP of $60 but good luck getting it at that price. I paid $64.86 but the lowest price I see on Amazon as I write this review is $77.97.One of the popular things to do when reviewing Storm Collectibles Chun-Li is to compare it to s.h. figuarts Chun-Li because they are currently the two big boys making Street Fighter figures. One could be forgiven for confusing the two if you don’t see them side by side because they are so similar looking with nearly the same exact color scheme and costume however when you get down to it there are huge differences. One of the biggest differences is in the face. The figuarts Chun-Li has a very demure, anime style face somewhat reminiscent of Street Fighter IV. The Storm Collectibles Chun-Li uses the Street Fighter V face although it’s more severe than any example I could find. I switched to the softer face and although I like the faces of both action figures I find the very realistic look of the SC Chun-Li to be more impressive. I also prefer the darker skin of the SC Chun-Li over the porcelain pale figuarts Chun-Li because she looks more like a woman of action who street fights out in the sun.Storm Collectibles differentiates itself from companies like Bandai and Figma in that it uses a lot more soft plastic. The figuarts Chun-Li is entirely hard plastic above the waist while SC uses soft plastic for the entire torso. I prefer the look and feel of soft plastic (or is it rubber) but it comes at a cost. Rubber on rubber is going to create more friction and the joints are nowhere near as smooth as they are on the figuarts figure. Articulating the legs of the figuarts Chun-Li is very easy but it can be a pain with the SC Chun-Li. For some reason the right leg is much stiffer and creakier. She can also get a bit entangled with her floating crotch piece so it can take some maneuvering to get the pose the way you want it. I was going to complain that the SC figure is missing much needed bicep articulation until I discovered that she DOES have bicep articulation. It’s just so stiff I didn’t even discover is until later. She also has shin articulation at the top of her book but it’s so slight I can’t understand why they even bothered. The articulation between the two are near mirror images. The figuarts figure has an ankle rocker which the SC figure is missing but the SC figure is able to raise her arms to the side much higher. The SC figure is just on the cusp of looking bizarre regarding her dimensions. She measures 2.25” from shoulder to crotch and 3.5” from crotch to the bottom of her feet. In reality, it should be ~1:1 so although we all know Chun-Li is a leggy woman this is pushing the boundaries. Her thighs and rear are so thick that she skirts the edge between looking like she has super muscular legs to looking like she’s got a fat bottom. The SC figure’s midsection sash is a separate piece with a cool dragon pattern but being a separate piece can cause problems with it getting bunched up.This is my fifth Storm Collectibles Street Fighter figure and the first female. SC seems to really like doing the beefier characters so Chun-Li stands apart. None of the figures are without their issues but I do consider them to be the next evolution in adult action figures. It really is amazing what this new kid on the block has managed to do. The figuarts recommended age is 13+ while the SC recommendation is 17+ so this really is an adult figure

Great quality.

Excellent quality. Best chun li figure I have seen so far. More expensive, but definitely your money’s worth.

Chun Li is a winner

Great figure, arrived earlier than estimated, nothing broken or missing once opened, poses well, no obvious blemishes on the paint apps

Some First were done Incorrectly, Chun Li, herself, is One of Them.

The figure is as ugly as sin. I mean, what’s the idea of enforcing the prospective of Justice by shunning “True Beauty” for unadulterated SKANKISM? If the code of GOOD wants us to be HORRIBLE IN APPEARANCE, then some of us would rather join the side of EVIL 🧐P.S.Settle for the G.I. Joe Chun Li from 1993 instead.
