These have bite!
Preparing a fine all aluminum mailbox for repainting, I went after the old paint with a small wire wheel on a drill. Spent a lot of time and didn't make enough progress - time for plan 'b'! These brushes on my angle grinder (aka. 'wheel of death') work better than expected! These thread right onto the grinder and a 7/8" wrench will snug it down and take it off. These really bit and chewed paint right off the aluminum where my wire wheel was doing nothing. I am going to have to go back in to all the nooks and crannies with the little wheel on my drill, but that's just dressing around the edges - these wheels really make short work out of the large areas.I found it interesting that the wires on the wheel cup flattened a good bit with the rpms. More importantly, After working at this for over 20 minutes, the wires stayed intact, none flying out at me: the construction quality is better than I reasonably expected. You will definitely want to wear heavy pants, long sleeves, protective eyewear and solid boots / shoes - I usually manage my projects carefully enough to go light on PPE, but no cutting corners using this tool! The wheel never got away from me, but once or twice it grabbed and I was glad to have been holding on tight. ...Totally satisfied, and excited even about how well this worked for my aggressive paint grinding needs!

Everything you'd expect from a coarse wire brush.
I got this set to help in removing the coating from some large steel pipe for welding. The coating is really thick, much thicker than just a coat of paint, and needs to be removed before you weld or even cut with a plasma cutter. I used these attached to a DeWalt 120V angle grinder and they did a great job. They are very aggressive and left the surface more than clean enough to weld.If you are cleaning steel, they are perfect. I'm not sure how well they would work on softer metal like aluminum. I tend to think it would be a little *too* aggressive for that, might scar the surface up more than you would want. Also, they did not fall apart like a lot of these wheels. I really cannot tell that they lost any of the wire strands. I would definitely recommend these for general shop use.

Fit Makita 4.5 angle grinder
The threads fit Makita 4-1/2" angle grinder. Of course they are heavy and take a bit to spin up but normal. Would recommend

An unexpected surprise in the design of these.
These "Made in China" brush wheels look like they might work well. But I was surprised about the design of the 2 flatter wheels. They are slightly concave in their shape, not flat. This might work out very well for welding and fabrication work. Note: The 2 slightly concave wheels are rated at 12,500 RPM MAX while the full cup brush is rated at 8,500 RPM MAX. This means the 2 slightly concave brushes should work with almost any 4.5" angle grinder, but the full cup brush can only be used on slower grinders, such as some 7" or 9" grinders or some battery operated 4.5 - 5" grinders that turn slower. Time will tell how they hold up to the rigors of real usage and I might update this review later.

Aggressive and dense wire!
This knotted wire is perfect for removal of coatings, heavy scale, and of course skin - if you get too close. You can really lean into it and it doesn't heat up and damage the base material but instead, keeps on cutting. The slightly cupped shape of the "flat" wheel provides a little bit of "give" and allows you to work a wider area in a single pass without having to move the grinder as much. I photographed the Alffun wheel next to another brand new wheel I recently bought. The Alffun appears to be twisted a bit more loosely, which I think contributes to it providing a wider contact patch.Anytime you use a wheel like this and regardless of the quality of the wheel, you should wear leather gloves, thick sleeves, face (not just eye) protection and heavy canvas pants or an apron. Stainless wire is sharp and they fly straight off the wheel when they do let go, so this is one product where proper PPE is essential.

Great set for the cost.
Solid construction and they work great. Can never have enough options for this kind of brush. Mostly use these for cleaning flux core welding projects and they are perfect. No complaints here.
