I was sick and tired of open hooks that popped off the rod every time I moved the shower curtain, so I bought these. They work perfectly, and glide right over the bump in the adjustable rod -- even when there's a wet washcloth weighing them down. I'm never going back to open hooks.However, if this is stainless steel, then I'm a cheese pizza. As long as they don't rust, I don't care what they're made of. A few reviewers say they rust -- if they do, I'll come back and change my review. If it rusts, it's not stainless (or it's a ridiculously low grade of stainless).If you want to be sure you have stainless, you'll have to spend more money, and get a reliable brand. You'll probably find something in any home supply store, but I'll bet it'll be $20. I hope these cheap ones work out.

I'd give sturdiness a 4/5 only because they bend with a little pressure, but for shower curtains, it's a 5/5. Easy to install and they slide along our tension rod perfectly. We previously had those rings that connect like in a 3-ring binder and they catch and eventually no longer connect, so this was a huge upgrade.

They are so pretty and slide like smooth ice! Can't believe the price, so inexpensive for glamor and job duty they do!

They make opening and closing the shower curtain very easy and smooth. I wish I bought these a long time ago. Been using them for months and no visible wear on the finish.

I bought these to replace the fancy hooks I already had. The fancy ones would constantly get caught on the shower rod (as it was an adjustable one). These glide so smoothly even on the adjustable rods and don’t make much of that screeching sound.
