Vuelta Speed One Pro 700c Alloy Hand Built Clincher 11sp Road Wheelset

My bike came with Mavic Aksium rim-brake wheels. Every 4-5,000 miles the bike shop tells me that the rear wheel sidewalls have become too thin from brake wear, and I replace the wheel. This time, I couldn't find a Mavic Aksium rim-brake replacement wheel. (I could only find Mavic disk brake wheels, which don't fit my bike or work with my components.) I went with the Vuelta Speed One Pro and, after a few hundred miles, I would say that they are a good 1:1 replacement for the Mavic Aksium.

I'm 210lbs/95KG. Wheels have held up well over the last 6 months/2000 miles of riding. Previous Vuelta SuperLite wheels lasted 4 years and around 18000 miles (according to strava) before the bearings starting to go. No bends or broken spokes in that time. I was going to replace the bearings on my old wheels, but the local shop wanted almost as much as this wheelset to do the job. Just bought another set instead.

Great wheels for the price. I was skeptical at first when ordering these to replace my old Mavic CXP wheels on my Surly Cross Check, fitted with 700x33c tires. The wheels arrived true and have remained so over 400 miles so far. The weight is nothing incredible but at ~1750g I would consider these mid-weight. The braking surface is good and stops the bike just as well as any other alloy wheel I have used.Overall I have been impressed, I had low expectations but have nothing but high opinions of these wheels. A real value at $170

I have not put many miles on these yet. But appear to be good value. Cartridge bearings were smooth. Braking rim appears to have well machined finish. Rims were true. Skewers looked/ worked nice, but wee a bit heavy steel. Packaging was good. Would recommend, good value.

Bought this wheel set as I upgrades to 11 speed drivetrain. Wheels spin true and hub are very smooth. I have been riding these two months now and have not had any issues, still true after riding on very choppy roads. Would definitely recommend these wheels to anyone in the market for a clincher wheel set, price and quality are definitely worth the price.

Very good built wheelset with nice ratchet sound for the rear wheel. The ratchet noise could horify some people thinking the hub is broken. These wheels are quite light also.
