The title here is confusing. There is a big difference between timed release and sustained release. I am a longtime continual user of sustained release taking 2000 mg daily. Sustained release Vit. C. allows your body to have a CONTINUAL dosage of this vitamin that restores cells and is an all around healer. Contrast with "timed" release that releases the vitamin into your body every few hours...timed, not sustained or continual. I've tried both kinds, and there really is an advantage to the sustained release.Vit. C. releases toxins/fluids/water from the body so ordinary megadoses or even "timed" release dosage can cause frequent runs to the bathroom whereas the sustained release is easiest on the body and works most efficiently. Sustained release is just a little more expensive than timed, but is well worth the difference. It is an especially helpful preventive when one feels a "cold" coming on. I was told by a doctor that it is water soluble so there is no danger of overdosing...any excess will simply be flushed from the body. It's important to drink a lot of clean water with Vit.C. For several decades of my 79 (drug-free) years I've used only sustained release which many stores do not carry, but fortunately it's available on the internet. Pay attention to the difference...Interestingly, animals don't need Vit.C as they produce their own. (We always knew they are smarter than humans!) :<))Be well!
