Thank Goodness They Still Make Knobs
Our first priority was to find a Bluetooth speaker with a knob for volume control. The primary user has difficulty finding and pressing the +/- (plus and minus) buttons found on most speakers. The fact that our search for knob speakers turned up in vintage styles was an unexpected bonus. Apparently, knobs are considered so old fashioned that that’s the only way you can find them. But that’s fine. It only adds style to function.Next, it had to be sized right for the spot where it must sit in order to be reached. Several cool styles were just too big. One was too tiny and toy-like. This model was described as a middle-of-the-road size and turned out to be just about right. The sound quality was our next concern. We wanted it to sound decent but we weren’t going to spring for Bose, so we kept our expectations in check. Narrowing down the choices left us in one-speaker territory, so we hoped for the best. Sound quality is very subjective, so to us, it sounds decent. It can be heard fine, the volume is good for the range of use, the adjustable bass/treble knob helps (but we just put it in the middle), and the tracks sound like the quality of file that’s coming out of the computer. Is this a party box? Of course not. But for our room-range, simply listening to music purposes, we’re happy with the sound. The color wasn’t so important, but it’s nice that there are color choices. We liked the oak color in the picture, but it was labeled walnut. Hmm? Could be a typo, so we went with that over the awful dark color or the expensive light color. Why items have different prices for different colors, we’ll never know. It’s the exact same thing! But we digress. When it came in, the oak color on the box was right, but the item itself is definitely a darker walnut color. Apparently, nobody makes anything in oak color anymore. It’s very hard to find. But the walnut is tolerable. The radio is immaterial to us. It’s cute to have a dial there for retro looks, but we have no intention of using it. This is only a Bluetooth speaker to us. Incidentally, the Bluetooth connected to the computer in a flash! We never even opened the manual. It’s self-explanatory to set the dial to BT mode, turn it on, and then go into the computer settings and Add A Device. Boom! Victrola showed up and Elvis was playing instantly! The power cord was an unexpected bonus. We may have assumed a rechargeable battery, but the description does say corded electric. Honestly, we read about so many speakers, we can’t remember what we thought its power source was. As it turns out, the power cord is great. The fact that it’s plugged in means that it can play forever, just like the old days when you didn’t have to think about charging every device before you can use it.

Delayed start radio
I've had this radio for just over a year now. We use it not quite daily, but probably close to it for 1-3 hours a day. The radio looks great, and the sound quality is good. In the last few months, it has developed a problem: when we turn it on, there is a delay of 1-3 minutes before sound begins. This happens every time we turn it on regardless of whether we are using over the air radio (FM; I don't listen to AM radio) or blue tooth mode. Once the sound does begin, the quality is still good, though very rarely it will cut out for a minute or two.

Great Radio and Bluetooth Speaker
This is an excellent radio and Bluetooth speaker. I purchased it as I loved the mid century modern look. I was surprised by the sound quality and I use it often as my main speaker for music. I plan on purchasing a second one for my home soon. A great purchase.

Decent
Pretty decent, doesn't like winter, so it can't stay in my garage all year- it stops working in the winter. Works pretty good the rest of the time.

Great little radio/bluetooth speaker for the office.
Nice little Bluetooth speaker for use in office. The speakers are not the best, and you need to fine tune dialing in radio stations, but it works well for the price. I love the retro look and the sound quality is more than adequate for casual listening. Audiophiles might not approve, but I enjoy the radio for the price.
