Great for a remote romp on a closed lappy
I have a laptop. Low power, decent performance, but no longer my main daily driver. Close the screen, and the video conks out. Until this. Now I can use all of the good aspects of the lappy, wherever I want to remote in.

I can't believe that I didn't know about these before
I cannot believe that I have been in IT for over 30 years and didn't know that these exist. I was literally thinking one day "I wonder if someone has come up with a dummy HDMI connector that tricks the server into thinking that there is a high-resolution monitor attached for better remote access" Well obviously someone was way ahead of me. After buying the HDMI versions, I wondered if there were super-old-school VGA connectors for a really old server - and there are. These work perfectly and make things much easier for me on an old machine that revert to 640x480 when there is no monitor connected when it boots.

Working perfectly on old laptop.
Works exactly as advertised, using on a 10 year old Dell laptop running Linux Mint, with a built in display of only 1280x768 which I keep tucked away, with lid down. I can remote in to the laptop and get 1920x1080 resolution. Before this, I had to keep it hooked up via VGA cable to a spare monitor which wasn't even turned on, so that Linux would detect it on startup and apply the proper resolution. What a waste of a 1920x1080 monitor. I"ve also used the Freegene DVI and HDMI emulators as well, also works perfectly.

HDMI version - 60Hz for 1080p only, everything above 30 or 24Hz
The title says everything (60Hz for 1080p only). Works for my purposes, making my MBP 2013 working trough RDC with a closed lid. I guess, $7 it's a fair price for what you get.

Does not connect to my tv's vga port
The pair I received appeared not to work. I saw changes on my PC desktop but no signal to the RGB display. The pair I received after further examining were detected by my PC as generic PnP monitors. I am trying a fix to see if I can connect to my TV. The VGA port on my TV does work with a VGA cable. So far I can only rate a 2.

Simple and easy Also, 2 of these at a very convenient
Do you have problems to remotely monitor your mining rig by teamvier for not having a monitor? This is the solution. Some mining rigidity when trying to administer them remotely by teamvier puts a resolution extremely small, which is a nuisance. with this device, simulates having a motive stuck to your video card and shows you the complete resolution. Simple and easy Also, 2 of these at a very convenient price

Great EDID emulator/fake monitor.
Great little piece of hardware. I am running a headless system and every time I would remove my monitor, it would revert to a very low resolution with no way of increasing, making it very difficult to use remotely. Plugged one of these in, and instantly had a wide range of resolutions to choose from. Highly recommended.

Works as expected even under Linux!
Works as expected even under Linux! I have a small Linux based server without a monitor attached and I also have GUI on it. Using TeamViewer I can connect now and use it with better resolution than 640x480 :)Linus is Mint

How to use them
I can’t use these because Amazon can’t source the instructions so if anyone knows how to activate them I would like to hear from you.
