Heats up FAST with a Sleek Modern Look
I cannot believe how this heats up to the highest level in seconds. I cooked 5 hot dogs in minutes...thoroughly! I bought the infrared. I just got it yesterday, used it today for the 1st time, so I don't know about withstanding the test of time. So easy to use.and easy to clean. It's pretty lightweight, so I don't expect it to take much wear and tearLots of plastic. I have a beautiful cook top range, with 5 burners and two of the burners switch to two different sizes each. It looks especially nice when it's clean and shiny. I got tired of cleaning the whole top when I used only one panSo I saw this appliance and thought, why not try this and use it for those "one pan" times, so that all I have to clean is one little burner. OMG what a great idea. It's very modern and sleek looking too, so it looks good sitting right out on top of my existing range. I'm going to try to use it every day for about 2 weeks and see if I think it will last. If I like it we'll enough, I may buy the 2 burner one. Today I love it and am very happy with my purchase. I am Very Glad I opted for the infrared one. I think that might be why it's so fast and even to heat up. Great buy. Price if definitely right. Very fast delivery..less than 24 hrs.

Great features for RV/Van life, precision cooking or preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse
First off, I would like to comment there are a lot of reviews from people reviewing the 2-burner version mixed in here, while this one is actually for the single burner. So it's hard to tell which version is the one getting the negative reviews.I purchased this INFRARED burner to use with my backup power system I made using the auxiliary battery in my Prius which includes a 1000 watt inverter so I can cook whether camping, on a trip or during a power outage but only if it is all below 1000 watts, and preferably lower than that. I like this single burner because the wattage can be precisely adjusted from 100 watts to 1500. Being able to cook at lower wattage is a big plus for those off-grid van life, RV and tiny house people who are relying on battery reserves and solar power who don't want to use up all their juice just making breakfast. There are also cooking recipes, like making Ghee or certain milk or chocolate based dishes where having precise, low temperatures is a must. I think this unit would be great for this. You also don't have to go out and purchase special magnetic pots and pans for this burner. I have done experiments with it and was able to fry perfect over-medium eggs at 200-300 watts and boil 4 cups of water never exceeding 800 watts. It did take longer for the water to boil at that temperature, but hey, you still get to cook don't you? Inside my home, I experimented with the most efficient use of wattage and power using my Kill-a-Watt and discovered that actually starting off your dishes at a higher temperature and then lowering it is not only faster, but consumes less energy. While I don't have extensive experience with this burner yet, the negatives seem to be that the default starting temperature is 1500 watts, so for me, I have to immediately press the down button repeatedly to a lower temperature so I don't blow a fuse with my car inverter. After referring to the chart Cuzimax provided, it seems that once you get over about 1100 degrees the increase in temperatures with higher wattage is negligible. so why not just make the unit so the maximum wattage is about 1200 or even 1000? It would be great if Cuzimax included that temperature to wattage chart in the box or even on the face of the unit.

Good for the price
Worked well as a stovetop cooker while my range was being replaced. Challenging to control the temperature

Newer version of the old cooker.
An improvement of the single burner electric cooker that's been around for decades. Nice hard glass (?) top. Updated heating element. Heats up real fast!

Okay but not great
Cooktop is just okay. Not really great. Doesn’t get hot enough to cook steak. Cannot sear items like meat or even vegetables.

This Is A Great Product That I Highly Recommend!
I originally thought I wanted a convection hot plate but research revealed those require a particular type of pan, so I looked into the infrared hot plates instead. The Cusimax heats extremely quickly and is so much more efficient than my gas stove. In fact, I didn't realize how inefficient my stove is. It heats the handle of one of my best frying pans until it cannot be handled without a glove. The Cusimax, because it comes in direct contact with the pan, delivers even heat where it's needed. I am getting a much better sear on meats which is great. Because the Cusimax heats differently (more efficiently), I am incurring a new learning curve about cooking times. Everything cooks more quickly which is great, but I am having to re-figure out how long to cook meats and things since they are cooking more quickly.I have been using the Cusimax a few weeks now, and the only downside has been that the "ON" and "OFF" markers wore off almost immediately, so it is now longer obvious when the switch is in the "OFF" position. In the attached photo, it is in the "OFF" position, but it is not easy to discern. There is a light that indicates when the heating elements are powered up, but that will turn itself on and off automatically to regulate the heat. I will probably have to create a sticker to make it clear when the device is turned off. Instead of using paint that wears off, maybe create an embossed dial. This is otherwise a great product that delivers a much better cook than my gas stove!
