Extremely well made--the adjustments are tight, but I consider that a good thing
I'm relatively short (around 5' 9") and I'm pretty sure I've eaten a few thousand more cheeseburgers that I probably should have, so I switched from a belt to suspenders years ago. How on earth does anyone deal with a belt cutting them in half all day? Because I travel a lot, for years I was using airline (plastic) suspenders and while they get you through the security lines much faster (try going through with these on and they'll put you on a no-fly list), but they're not really very rugged. These John Deere suspenders, on the other hand, kind of define the word rugged. There's a whole lot more rugged in these things, in fact, than I would have ever thought someone would put into a pair of suspenders. Some reviewers have said they're too short, but since I'm pretty short, no problem. The two metal length adjusters are definitely tough to adjust and if you don't have patience and strong fingers, they're going to annoy you big time. But personally I think you want to have clamps that are going to keep their position and not slip around or loosen up. Trust me, these are not loosening up any time soon. It took me about 10 minutes just to get them adjusted properly and even now they're a bit short but I'm assuming they'll stretch a small amount, so I'm leaving them as is. If my voice starts going up in pitch, I'll let them out a bit.The clamps are extremely rugged and there is no question, over time they're going to shred the tops of my jeans. But if I was a handy person with a needle and thread, I'd sew some extra fabric where the clamps fit and solve that problem. I said "if" is I was handy :)Anyway, great suspenders, worth the price, they'll last a very long time and if you're out working some kind of job where you don't want to be hitching up your jeans all day long, you'll love these.

Great product for a man with a gut
I've never been one for suspenders. I've always been a bigger fan of belts. I mean, why bother strapping your slacks to you shoulders if a leather belt can keep everything in place at the waist? Additionally, in my line of work I often times need to squeeze into tight spaces and transport packages, so the less "snaggable" items hanging off of my person the better!Well, that's how I felt until my wife started baking so many cookies. You see I had to move up north for work (I'm talking way north) and my wife has to leave her friends behind. Additionally, the terrain up here cannot support a garden, so her number one hobby was no longer an option. So she started baking. Great at first, but then I started putting on the pounds! That's where these suspenders made the difference. Belts don't hold pants up quite as well when there's a jolly gut in the way! And snag is no longer an issue because I wear a coat most of the time due to the weather. They are durable, the clips are strong, and the forest green matches my uniform quite well! The kicker? My lady loves them. The finer detail is my favorite part, however. The little deer on the back makes it feel like they were made special for a business trip I take once a year.

Very Durable
These suspenders are perfect for the outdoor working man. My husband loves them. He had problems keeping his pants up with the weight of keys, phone, change, and whatever else ended up in his pockets. Very pleased and so happy I don't have to hear about his pants falling off anymore.

Well Made and Heavy Duty
These are extremely sturdy and well made. They are perfect for holding up my britches when cargo pockets are full, and to keep pants from slipping down under my plump belly. They adjusted well to fit me, at 5'7", but I had to let out all but about an inch and a half of the adjustment clips. This leads me to wonder whether they would be long enough for people in the 6' range, or with long waists. Also, because of their robust construction, they are much heavier than common suspenders used for dress or tux pants. Takes a little getting used to.

Hubby loves them
Perfect for my husband! This is his second pair. Clamp broke on one strap after 5 years of use.

Heavy Duty Straps and Clamps
These suspenders (braces) are made by the Carhart group but with rebranded leather and adjustment clips.I expect these to last for at least three years with daily wearing.Carhart are the best I have found. They retain their stretch and the clamps grip all materials well.Good job!

Great suspenders - Relieves back pain
Order a pair of McGuire-Nicholas 112 2" $8.54 and a pair of John Deere 2" Logger $19.00. Bought them because I was having a lot of back pain. Dr. said I was having to wear my belt too tight and to try suspenders. My body shape (up-side-down pyramid) (6' - 270 Lbs) required me to pull my belt pretty tight to keep for sliding down for my fat waist to my smaller hips. Both suspenders reduce reduced the back pain dramatically. John Deere was twice the price of McGuire but there are some differences. Both stay attached to the pants well. The McGuire are stiffer and the back straps are stretchy; the John Deere are much softer and the entire length is stretchy. Comes down the costs vs comfort. I wear both but McGuire requires TeeShit under them.
