Glorious flavor
Though I'm hardly a "soy sauce connoisseur", I have searched for years to find a rich shoyu like I had in Japan. Tried various Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai ones.. it seemed like if I found something with rich flavor it was like tamari and far too salty. I ran across this and though it's pricey thought I'd give it a shot. And oh my. Wonderful umami flavor; rich, tangy, and not too salty. Despite having no sugar or HFCS, it also has a little hint of sweetness. I could almost drink this stuff straight from the bottle. Will definitely buy again. It is worth the price, pretty much an entirely different product than the soy sauce one would buy at a grocery store.

Not you grocery store soy sauce
If you only buy American grocery store version of soy sauce this absolutely a must try. I decided to try it after seeing something about the ingredients and only 4 are used to make soy sauce. I looked at my one at home and so many ingredients that so I figured I’d order and see the difference. Comparison was shocking. U.S.A. soy so salty but that’s what we are accustomed to. This one I bought the flavors so much richer and cleaner. Less salty flavor and more of a rich sweet flavor , clean and with flavoring your food it’s just night and day. So happy that I’ve tried it. Will never go back to the grocery store versions.

I've become a major fan
A few years ago, a food blog evaluated soy sauce brands and put this one on top. The usual Kikkoman is fine, it suggested -- but this is better. I gave it a try, and... well, now Amazon reminds me that I've purchased this product four times already. That says something; it's not like I go through soy sauce that fast.I suppose I should say something about its saltness or umami or whatever, but I'm not in the mood for that kind of analysis. Simply, I prefer the taste to the standard brands.Shipping has never been a problem for me. It's always arrived well-packed, with bubble wrap around the bottle. As artisanal products go, this is affordable. It's worth the experiment!

Very good soy sauce, but does not surpass Kimlan.
This is very good soy sauce. I must have 10 bottles of soy sauce now and while this is good, I do like the Kimlan soy sauces better.

Excellent Japanese Barrel Aged Soy Sauce! Umami!
Excellent flavor, exceptionally smooth, not overly salty, pleasing "thickness" to the sauce. I used it for homemade tuna and salmon rolls and sashimi for dipping, it's just on another level of flavor compared to steel vat aged soy sauces. Too precious to cook with so I'll only be using it to dip succulent sliced sashimi and rolls! 100% recommended for a barrel aged soy sauce!Update 10/24 My 6th bottle! The price has dropped from $12.99 to $10.99 which is nice since I tend to use it for everything instead of just dipping! I like to take this soy sauce and mix it with with some tubed wasabi then marinate thinly sliced tuna and salmon for about 30 minutes, yummy

Great choice
Honestly the best I’ve ever had. Others are often too salty tasting, but this was perfect.
