Perfect for the dorm!
We bought this on the recommendation of other college students. It perfect to keep things secure in the dorms when doors stay open. It fits wallet, keys, prescription bottles, and more. Easy to program and attach

Good medicine safe
Bought it for my daughter’s dorm for meds. She can attach it to her bed frame and fits 3 full sized pill bottles

Great little safe!
This is a great little safe. I bought it to keep my medications out of reach. It's definitely not built to stand up to a heavy assault, but compared to some of the other safes I looked at (where they had external hinges that could be easily compromised, etc.), this one seems the most secure. This is a great size to lock up under my sink, with the tether wrapped around the plumbing. Yes - someone could remove the plumbing to take the little safe, but I wasn't worried about that so much as easy removal or tampering. The safe would be a perfect fit under a car seat also, but is a bit big to try to travel with it - I wouldn't try to pack it in my suitcase to take along on a trip or anything. Overall a great little safe.

Junk
***update: this fell off of my nightstand and opened. Not good.First you must understand that this is a lock box, not a safe. It's designed to keep honest people honest....not to store your valuables to prevent them from being stolen in a robbery. This is to keep the house keeper or the kids out of things you don't want them to see / have. I could get into this thing in my workshop in about 60 seconds....but I have a big gun safe for my guns, etc. I use this to keep credit cards and prescription medication. It's quick and easy to access, and if someone breaks into it I'll know about it. That's the main function. You could use it to keep a gun, pills, etc. out of the hands of a small child, but not to keep a gun or jewelry from leaving your home. For that you will need to spend a lot more money. I see the reviews on here blasting the product, and I think you have to be dumb to think you can spend $20 or $30 and protect ultra valuable items. Use your head. The keypad works well and setting the combination is easy. It has a padded interior and comes with a cable lock, which is nice but again this is not for "high" security, just for low security needs. You could get in with a hammer, but it would be obvious that you did.My 2 complaints are that the keypad beep is VERY loud. TOO loud. My second complaint is that sometimes the lock mechanism wants to stick. Otherwise I'm happy with it.

I got it for my grandson's dorm room. Well worth the investment.

Unreliable. Poorly made. One step above a toy.
If I could return it I would. Twice now I have gone to get my firearm and the keypad is unusable. I then have to find the backup keys to get in. Will work 15 times just fine, then one day you can’t get in. Batteries are still good, they are just not secured in the battery compartment so they wiggle loose of the contacts.

Good for light-duty applications
This is a useful storage box that's worth the price, but it's necessary to know what you are and aren't getting. One possible area of concern is that you don't have fire protection with this because there aren't air-tight seals and it's not insulated. So, this might not be the best choice for storage of irreplaceable documents.Security-wise, the keypad operated electronic lock system is easy to program with your own code and works well. You also are provided with two keys that allow you to open the box without the code if you forget it or if the 4 AA batteries that power the electronic locking mechanism should run down. It could be said that the locking system is not the most secure because there seems to be a lot of plastic in it, but the thing about that is the box itself could probably be pried open in less than a minute with a sturdy screwdriver, so it doesn't really make sense to include a bank-vault level lock. And, given the size of this box someone could just pick it up and take it. You can somewhat prevent that with the cable that is provided with this box, allowing you to secure it to something solid. The best use for this product is to keep personal valuables in a place where you can easily access them yet where random people are not just going to be able pick them up and mess around with them. I'm thinking of a phone or tablet, personal items in your desk at work, medications that you want to keep people from rifling through, documents you want to keep private, etc.So, all in all, this storage safe does have some good uses and I'm glad I got it. But I would also be interested in a model that's roughly the same size but a little heavier-built to give it some fire protection and to make it harder to break open.
