Works as expected
First impression is very good. I see, there are many negative reviews about longevity, will see how it will go for me.Quite heavy, especially very big and bulky power supply, but technically it works just fine.I testes 10Gb connection between MacBook Pro and Mac Studio - perfectly working!Wish it will support USB-C devices as hosts as well, so I can plug in iPhone / iPad and get power + ethernet. Also, would be nice to have USB-C ports instead of USB-As (who even using it today?!)But my primary goal was to provide 10Gb ethernet + power for MacBook, so I got it.

Solid and does what others don't
I bought OWC stuff in the old days. Usually solid and useful but not overprices. They continue it with this. Many of these cheaper hubs are powered by the laptop, which is fine, but not what I needed for a semi-permanent installation. This is. It's got it's own power and will power the laptop, as well as connect to a boatload of other devices. It's also compact but not "too compact", which makes it hard to get connections in and out.So pretty pleased.

OWC Dock with Intel Laptop is garbage
0 (zero) Stars! I never write reviews but this product was so bad that I had it issue a Public Safety Announcement. At least if you have an Intel laptop. The main reason for purchasing this was because I had just received 8GB fiber internet and wanted a 10GB dock for my X1 Carbon Gen12. Unfortunately the best this thing could do was anywhere from 500MB to 1GB and on occasion 2GB when it was in a good mood. I of course loaded the latest Marvel driver and played with all of the settings but couldn't get this thing to do get much better. I then tried it with my wife's Mac Air M1 and it got up to 5GB... but still not the 8GB that my provider showed me that I was getting out of the router which was directly connected into this thing. I contacted OWC support and they were very nice but couldn't help me. I even told them that the driver on their webpage was out of date, but if you dig deep enough through their crumby website they do provide you with a link to Marvel where you low-and-behold can find the latest driver. OWC support told me to follow up with with Lenovo and Microsoft and see how that goes... down the rabbit hole we go. That product development is what they should be doing - not me.I was going to chalk this up to crappy support for Windows and hold on to the dock because it was otherwise doing okay and there aren't many options to choose from. However I started to notice that every 2 to 3 days my bluetooth buggered up and my mouse couldn't connect any longer. So I was forced to reboot my laptop. But then it would hang for minutes in the shutdown process before I would get the "blue screen of DEATH!" I haven't seen this in years. Get yourself this OWC dock if you would like some blue-screen nostalgia! So I have had enough! But then to top it all off the dock is now losing connection to my laptop and resetting my monitors every 5 seconds! This is going back!!! Before I put it in the dump.I'm going to buy the CalDigit TS4 and see how that works! The reviews are better and it has at least a 2.5GB ethernet port.

Buy this device instead of a regular USB hub!
I've been purchasing USB hubs for a while to allow me to plug in the many USB devices. The only problem was that every USB device had there problems where some devices wouldn't work properly like cameras and sound interfaces. But WOW this OWC product REALLY WORKS! It is the only device I purchased that WORKED. Buy this OWC interface to extend your USB and other interface needs. Stay away for the other 3rd part HUBS, believe me the OWC interface is the only one that I will purchase from now on! Thank you OWC for making a really good device!

Would't Work With Supplied TB4 Cable.
The 10G ethernet adapter would not initialize with the supplied OWC branded Thunderbolt 4 cable with my Dell biz laptop.I don't remember the exact model of my laptop. But it has 2 TB4 ports and a 12th gen Intel i7 CPU.The device would show up in Device Manager, but with an error.I tried uninstalling/rebooting/power cycling... all that and nothing helped. The only fix was swapping to the Apple TB4 1M cable that I had. After that, it worked. The Apple TB5 1M cable also works.I dropped one star because of this.

I didn't have much luck with this dock
I purchased this dock about 8 months ago, and at first I was really happy with it. However, I started to notice some serious issues after a while:• I have 10 Gb/s ethernet in my house, and it was working well with this dock for several months. However, then I purchased a Synology NAS, and was using it for Time Machine backups of my Mac. This caused large amounts of 10 GB/s network traffic, and I noticed that this made the OWC dock really hot. I was trying to backup a Mac that had about 5 TB of data, and it never completed the backup. The OWC dock would get too hot, and I would lose connectivity to ethernet and all USB devices. I had to unplug the dock, and plug it back in before connectivity would resume. After several attempts, my backup never completed.• I had a hard drive attached to the dock via USB-C, and it would always disconnect when my Mac went to sleep. At first I thought this was a Mac problem. However, I also have CalDigit TS3+ dock, and it doesn't disconnect the drive during sleep. If you're not using 10 Gb/s ethernet, and you don't have external drives attached, then this is a great dock. Otherwise, I would recommend that you get the CalDigit TS3+ and the StarTech Thunderbolt to ethernet adapter. That combination works great for me.
