Great, even, gentle pressure to work out tightness.
I prefer the versatility of the long 36 inch version, although it mostly use only about half of the length. I have begun rolling this on the wall behind me, near an opposite wall or doorway I can push with, which fully regulates the pressure. One thing I learned is that the tension that feels as if it is from the lower neck, really comes from that patch of muscle below the shoulder blades mid-back. Those muscles are just above the spine, so you're rolling mostly muscle and will relax almost the entire area from just above the hip bones to the top of the shoulders, at the neck.I don't think using this without exercising would work as well. I've been stressing on a stepper this summer and am now using this roller as recovery from stepper and upper body dumbbell work (both while stepping and also movements I can't do while on the stepper). I never thought it would work as well as it does, but it works for me

I Bought a Foam Roller and Now I Can Put on Socks Without Crying
I bought this foam roller out of desperation after waking up one morning feeling like my lower back had been cursed by a wizard with a grudge. I couldn’t bend over without making a noise that sounded like a haunted door.At first, I was skeptical. I mean, how much could rolling around on a giant pool noodle really help? But after one awkward, slightly painful, and definitely ungraceful session on the floor, something magical happened. I stood up and didn’t feel like I needed to immediately lie back down. Now it’s part of my daily routine. A few rolls in the morning and I feel like I added five years back to my spine. It hurts so good, like my back is mad at me during the process but sends me a thank you card afterward. If your lower back has been making weird creaking noises and you’re one sneeze away from throwing it out completely, do yourself a favor and get this thing.

A Fitness Essential
I've been using the Amazon Basics High Density Foam Roller (24-inch, black) for several months, and it has become an essential part of my post-workout routine.Pros:Firm Support: This roller is constructed from high-density polypropylene foam, providing a firm surface that effectively targets muscle knots and tension. It's particularly beneficial for back and leg exercises, offering the necessary pressure for deep tissue relief.Men's FitnessDurability: Despite regular use, the roller maintains its shape and shows no signs of wear. Its robust build ensures longevity, making it a cost-effective choice.Size Versatility: The 24-inch length is ideal for various exercises, from full back stretches to targeting specific muscle groups. It's long enough for comprehensive support yet compact enough for easy storage.Smooth Surface: The roller's smooth texture allows for consistent pressure distribution, making it suitable for users who prefer a uniform surface without ridges or knobs.Cons:Firmness Level: While the firmness is advantageous for deep muscle work, beginners or those with sensitive areas might find it too intense initially. It's advisable to start slowly and adjust as needed.HealthLack of Texture: The absence of ridges means it may not reach certain trigger points as effectively as textured rollers. Users seeking targeted pressure might consider this when choosing a roller.

A bargain??
This is anb updated review. I ordered this roller in lieu of a $60 plus roller my physical therapist used with me and at first i was impressed with the value. However, after one session with this roller at home, I ended up feeling bruised in my sacral area and when used longitudinally under my spine as my home exercisers directed, was actyuallky a little painful. I took it into PT today and compared it to the "soft" roller I had used there and there was a world of difference. So, i get to order the much more expensive roller after all and this one is now delegated to repurposing as a post under our deck or other use where a concrete column would normally be needed. Bottom line, this may be great for your purposes but it brought me pain . i can still use it for my knee exercises so I'll keep it around.

Durable, Comfortable, and My Favorite Part of the Workout
I’ve had this roller for almost a year now — it’s held up perfectly. Still firm, no dents, and super reliable after every workout. Honestly, it’s my favorite part of the routine — it feels like a reward at the end. Even my bunny, Snickers, loves hopping over it like it’s a mini obstacle course, so I guess we’re both getting in some movement. If you're new to foam rolling or just want something that lasts, this one does the job.

Perfect Foam Roller for Deep Muscle Relief
My husband has tried a few foam rollers before, but this one from Amazon Basics really stands out. The high-density foam is firm enough to give deep, effective pressure without feeling like it will break down quickly. It’s just the right size and firmness for rolling out sore muscles after workouts or long days of sitting. What he loved most is how durable it feels — no dents or soft spots even after weeks of daily use. It’s also lightweight and easy to carry to the gym or keep at home.If you want a reliable foam roller that does the job without breaking the bank, this one is a solid choice!

I can feel the improvement in my muscles!
I have to strengthen my musles surrounding my knees and hip before surgery. My PT fellow recommended this foam roll. I bought 2 others before this one, and they were like rock! I'm 79, and need one a tad softer.Love this one, after a month of using it I can definitely feel the improvement!

Just like the one at my therapist’s office
This is firm, not soft, which makes it perfect for elevating an injured leg or supporting back exercises. It’s lightweight and will stand on end for storage. It is wide enough to support two legs for most people. It’s perfect for the RICE protocols for treating injuries.
