New old stock non-smart basic TV for the win!
I was looking for a non-smart TV, which BTW is almost impossible now days, due to my last 2 smart TV's started acting up around a 1 year after purchasing. Basically freezing up, self restarting, etc. Factory resetting didn't help. So found this TV which is basically new old stock, from i Believe 2017? It's just a basic TV that works and has zero bullshit software to crash. I watch over the air TV (antenna free TV) and working perfectly! Has a good picture but the sound does suck so I have it running through my stereo which everyone should consider doing or least a sound bar! Also have my fire stick plugged in and picture with it is great as well. It's a great basic TV!

HDTV signal only, must verify service
After hooking this up to my parents cable box I wasn't getting any signal at all I Channel searched I did Over The Air I did cable I got four channels over the air with the built-in antenna but I couldn't connect to the cable box then doing some reading I realized this was a high definition HDTV and those REQUIRE a specific HD broadcast from the cable company I was unaware of that. It's my fault I'm ignorant to those facts but I got it squared away with the cable company I just thought HD meant just a better picture I wanted a dumb TV this size for my parents old cabling in their house I did not want a smart TV so I was excited to find this dumb TV for a reasonable price however knowing what I know now I would not have bought it with the HD specific

It's what the price implies
I bought this because I was looking for a dumb TV that could jump between channels on over-the-air broadcasts using good old-fashioned number buttons, and this was one of the few models available capable of doing that. The first unit I was sent arrived damaged (there was a big fold/protrusion on the left side of the TV), but the exchange was as painless as an exchange is capable of being, and the replacement has been up and running for two weeks now.The low price was attractive, but not surprisingly, it correctly implied that the TV wasn't going to excel at anything. The image is... fine. It took a bit of effort playing with the display settings to get the picture quality where I wanted it, and the picture still feels a little bright/washed out on occasion. (Simply turning the brightness down negatively impacted the color and contrast. There's a power-saving mode that automatically runs the LEDs at a not-as-bright setting, but if you try to adjust the other sliders in any way -- and you'll want to, as the default settings aren't ideal -- the power-saving mode is automatically deselected.)The light isn't quite distributed evenly across the entire screen -- the corners are slightly dimmer, and there are wide, faint, vertical "bands" near the center that reveal where the LEDs are concentrated. But these dimmer spots are only noticeable when the screen displays a solid color -- during normal moving-picture viewing, they aren't detectable. The speakers aren't great, which is to be expected from any flat screen TV, although these sound especially hollow. But the unit has a port for an optical cable so you can hook up a proper sound system.Overall, though, the unit does what I want it to do, which is give me a way to watch broadcast television without wasting my time with menus and app promotions. The picture is good enough, and there are three HDMI ports and a set of component video ports to give you plenty of options for attaching other devices. It's an affordable television, for all the positives and negatives that entails.

Review update - ZERO response, ZERO support, ZERO value. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE
UPDATE:Absolute garbage. I am now on my FOURTH contact to Amazon trying to get a DEFECTIVE PRODUCT replaced. The seller has not contacted me, at all, in response. Amazon (on my THIRD contact) rejected my A-Z claim, with the following stupidity:"The A-to-z Guarantee protects buyers when they do not receive an item or an item does not match its description. Although we understand your disappointment, you received the item and the item matched its description."Never mind that I NEVER CLAIMED that the item description didn't match. The TV started developing horizontal lines a couple of months after the first connection. If they won't respond to communication, let's see if this gets their attention... Any company that simply ignores their customer after the sale is not someone with whom I want to do "business." Sceptre will never get even another LOOK, from me. This is beyond frustrating, and EVERY time I call, the "policy" is to "contact the seller" (AGAIN). Then another "wait," varying from two days to a week. My initial attempt was back in June. No more. Amazon is starting to get on my nerves as much as the seller, and I'm starting to consider posting reviews to other sites, as well, warning people of this.

Worth Every Peenny
Goal 1 was to get easy 100% mirroring nor NFL replay - check. TCL cannot do this.Goal 2 was to have a remote with a SOURCE control, like my 32 in Septre TV - checkGoal 3 was to make sure everything works - check. This TV like many others has insuffient volume when using DVD players, but this is fixed by usingIt is very annoying to have to point the remote to the right and then to make any on screem adjustments on the left.a good sound bar.Great TV.
